The Role: Senior Internal Auditor
Orora is seeking a diverse and talented Senior Internal Auditor to identify, plan, perform, and report on reviews over the effectiveness of internal controls within Orora Limited and to develop recommendations to strengthen internal controls. We do not want someone who can just find risks. You should be able to translate risks into business issues. You will use your writing skills to succinctly communicate identified issues in business terms. You must help prioritize findings and recommendations in tune with our corporate strategy and work with our cross functional teams throughout Orora!

  • This position will report to the: Risk and Assurance Director- North America
  • Location: Hybrid - Remote working and on-site, Dallas, TX
  • Travel Requirement: Travel Required - up to 2 weeks per month, both locally and interstate
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
    What You'll be Responsible For in this Role In this highly visible role, the Sr. Internal Auditor will provide input into the development of the Internal Audit Plan and ensure that reviews are targeted at areas of higher risk and/or areas that provide opportunities to achieve business objectives. This role is the primary point for delivering the Internal Audit Plan within the North American businesses. You will undertake financial, operational and compliance audits including planning and execution, identifying and defining issues, developing appropriate recommendations, agreeing action plans and reporting. You will gain valuable exposure to many areas within our business, working with cross functional teams to understand our IT environment, meet a wide range of stakeholders, and be able to make important improvements that make a real difference. Key Responsibilities: - Define scope and complete planning for the execution of assurance reviews
    • Liaise with co-source provider for resourcing requirements for assurance engagements to supplement internal audit team
    • Undertake fieldwork as per the approved scope and in accordance with the standards and practices of the function
    • Complete documentation and compile working papers in conformance with 'reperformance standards'
    • Understand processes, assess risks/impacts, identify control weaknesses, and develop practical solutions
    • Conduct status meetings with management throughout fieldwork to confirm factual accuracy of issues identified and agree recommendations raised at the end of fieldwork
    • Prepare reports for review by Risk and Assurance Director- North America
    • Provide support to the Risk and Assurance Director- North America and ANZ based risk initiatives, as required
    • Create and develop independent and objective relationships with the North American businesses to enable efficient knowledge sharing and collaboration. What We're Looking For Minimum Qualifications:
      • Business, commerce, economics, finance or equivalent degree, and professional membership (e.g., IIA, AICPA, etc.)
      • 3-5 years' experience, preferably a combination of "Big-4" audit firm and industry expertise (ideally manufacturing)
      • Strong demonstrated background in risk and assurance/audit activities and exposure to strategic and/or operational activities
      • Proven track record in engaging effectively with stakeholders across different borders and various cultures
      • Highly motivated with a positive attitude and a proven ability to think and act objectively and independently
      • Experience developing and applying data analytics in risk assessments and assurance testing activities, including use of analytics technologies (i.e., programming, data management, visualization, etc.)
      • Solid base knowledge of IT risk concepts and exposure to systems in a multinational organization (e.g., SAP etc.)
        Additional Preferred Qualifications:
        • Certifications are a plus (CPA, CIA, CISA, etc.)!
        • Six Sigma/Lean experience and/or ISO 31000 standards experience, are a plus!
        • High level of professional integrity and unfettered commitment to ethical standards
        • Sound work ethic combined with effective time management and self-organization skills
        • Effective interpersonal skills to engage with all levels of the organization, including resolving conflicts as they arise
        • Demonstrated teamwork skills, including knowledge sharing and development of other team members
        • Ability to work on non-standard and/or complex projects without a ready-made 'blueprint'
        • Sharp analytical skills with an adaptable and constructive approach to problem solving
        • Willingness to get involved in detail as well as take lead roles depending on the engagement
        • Demonstrated potential to take on roles in the Company outside of the Risk and Assurance function
        • Proficient in written and spoken English with strong report writing skills
