Job Description:
Job Description Analyze specifications, lay out metal stock, set
up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make
and repair dies, cutting and forging tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges,
and hand tools. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION \n Does highly skilled tool
fitting, adjusting, and timing. \n Performs any tool room machine
operation including but not limited mills, lathes, grinders,
profile grinders, heat treatment and annealing \n Works from
complicated drawings and sketches. \n Proficient in the use of
measurement devices such as micrometers, scales, depth gauges,
calipers and optical comparators \n Typical work products include
multi-station progressive dies, intricate compound dies of
irregular shape, sub-press dies for parts of delicate outline and
complex index milling fixtures. \n Experience with working
(milling, lathe, grinding) hardened steel and carbide. \n Observes
all safety rules. \n Maintains a neat and well-organized work area.
\n Other duties as directed by Production Manager with guidance
from engineering. \n \n SKILLS and ABILITIES \n Strong technical
and analytical ability. \n Ability to interpret job orders,
blueprints, quality specifications, and other related documents. \n
Good written and verbal communication skills. \n Strong math and
mechanical reasoning skills. \n Ability to contribute as part of a
team. \n \n EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE \n Tool and die maker,
typically requiring trade school and five or more years of tool
room experience, or equivalent. \n 5 years of experience in tight
tolerance tool making experience. \n 5 years setting and operating
