TAYLOR-DUNN Senior Manufacturing Engineer: Summary of Position The Senior Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for the development and validation of manufacturing processes for Vehicle Assembly Production Processes In this role you will be working with a cross-functional team to create and develop manufacturing processes. transfer these processes to full manufacturing and support ongoing improvements. This position will create and maintain manufacturing instructions, evaluate and address process risk, create and support production equipment and fixtures, own validation of manufacturing processes, and actively resolve issues and implement changes to improve quality, reduce cost and delight our customers. • You are effective and efficient working both with floor operators and top management Essential Functions
  • Process Validation - Establish and support new and ongoing process validation for manufacturing processes and equipment (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • New Product Introduction (NPI)- work closely with the product development team to establish and develop manufacturing processes. Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) input throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Process Risk - Create and maintain process risk documentation (PFMEA) and implement suitable mitigations for high-risk failure modes
  • Sustaining Engineering - Identify, lead and support design and process changes to improve product quality, reduce cost and support operational excellence
  • Production Support - Ensure manufacturing up-time and quality through root cause analysis, creation of tooling and fixtures, and providing technical leadership on the manufacturing floor. Requirements
    • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, &/or similar Engineering Degree
    • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role
    • Automotive or other highly regulated manufacturing experience preferred
    • Experience with process development and validation of complex, electromechanical products and sub-assemblies.
    • Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis, Tolerance Stack-Up Analysis, and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA/PFMEA)
    • Experience with six sigma tools including process capability, MSA/Gauge R&R, and statistical process controls
    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and Lean Process Implementation
    • Comfortable using 3D CAD Software (SolidWorks preferred)
    • Capable of multi-tasking and completing tasks on time without compromising quality.
    • Must be self-motivated, solution driven, and able to work independently.
    • Must be an excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills. EEO Statement
