Job Description:

*Job Description **Title: * Quality Control ManagerThe Quality Control Manager's primary responsibility is to ensure equipment leaving VCI is clean, functional, complete, logically and sensibly packaged, and clearly and consistently labeled. The logical and sensible packaging process is achieved through discussions with field staff as well as warehouse staff. The equipment preparation process is accomplished by conducting a complete physical inspection, basic functional testing, and thorough cleaning and labeling or re-labeling upon return from a job.A basic working knowledge of all common owned equipment will be necessary to successfully evaluate its performance. Specialty equipment may require recruiting qualified assistance from a member of the engineering team.Regular monitoring of show reports and proactive inquiries into equipment performance will be necessary, in addition to identifying malfunctioning or damaged equipment via yellow tags.Equipment found to be malfunctioning must be scheduled for repair utilizing accepted and vetted maintenance providers, including original equipment manufacturers. The manager will approve any expenses required to achieve proposed repairs. Any repairs required that are the responsibility of the customer will require that the QC Department provides a damage report and estimated repair costs to Sales Associate, who issued the order, no more than 48 hours after the return of the equipment. The repair responsibility includes coordination of all repair activities including sourcing, procuring, and conducting utilizing both internal and external resources.The QC Manager will also be responsible for Inventory Asset Control. The department will maintain owned inventory, provide the Accounting Department with purchase-related records(VCI Purchase Orders, shippers, freight manifests, serial numbers, and barcode numbers corresponding to serialized owned equipment, etc.). The department will record purchases, maintain databases, perform physical count of inventory, and reconcile actual stock count to computer-generated reports.*Responsibilities: *80% l. Quality Control & Maintenance* Establish staging area for return of equipment requiring cleaning or repair.* Prioritize equipment preparation using rental software scheduling data.* Clean and check barcode placement and integrity and replace as necessary.* Clean and check branded label placement and integrity and replace as necessary.9/4/2022* Begin repair activity for equipment failing functional testing.* Change status in rental software to reflect items not available for use due to failure.* Develop and maintain clean and organized service areas for all systems, audio, and video terminal equipment.* Develop and maintain clean and organized storage areas for all systems, audio, and video terminal equipment with input from warehouse leadership.* Develop preventative maintenance plan including maintaining current firmware/software versions for all equipment.* Ensure that Equipment leaving VCI on jobs is in proper working order and acceptable appearance with all identifying labels present and readable.* Maintain records and documentation in rental software system for all equipment repairs, upgrades and quality control actions taken.* Work with Director of Engineering to develop substitution recommendation for equipment in rental software.* Work with Directors of Engineering, Operations, and Production to establish logical and sensible packaging solutions.* Coordinate with staff to ensure availability of materials and equipment.20% II. Inventory Management* Manage VCI equipment inventory including sourcing, procuring, repairing, referring for3rd party service, filing warranty claims, and other activities as directed.* Ensure that all new equipment purchased is properly barcoded, labeled, tested and documented in rental software system as per company policies.* Research, collaborate, and recommend capital and non-capital purchases for the company.* Adhere to health and safety policy, and other requirements relating to care and handling of equipment*This role requires: ** High attention to detail and strong organizational skills* Have a combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to graduation from high school or a GED* Must be able to lift 50 pounds* Ability to effectively troubleshoot and manage time in time-sensitive situations* Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment* Availability to work some weekends, after-hours, and on-call as needed* Possesses 3-5 years of professional experience in AV rental, or event production9/4/2022* Strong technical knowledge of a wide range of A/V gear.* Possess an aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving* Basic networking proficiency, MS Office365, Windows, and Mac OS skills a plus* Demonstrated leadership/management ability* Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills* Excellent time management and macro view of workflow* Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously*Key Performance indicators: ** Right first time - Equipment is functional, and appearance is acceptable when on show site* Complaint rate from show site regarding equipment condition on delivery and/or suitability of packaging* Defect rate* Staff development* Overdue corrective actions*Compensation: **Full-Time $30-$35/hr *9/4/2022Job Type: Full-timePay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Flexible schedule* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shiftAbility to commute/relocate:* Anaheim, CA 92806: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)Experience:* Audio, video, lighting and/or production: 1 year (Preferred)* QC Management: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
