Job Description:
Sr. Manager of Quality AssuranceThe Senior Manager of Quality
Assurance is responsible for managing Quality Compliance and
Quality Engineering staff and activities. They are responsible for
ensuring the facility and its many quality programs are managed in
accordance with all applicable regulations and standards and for
ensuring quality issues and non-conformances are appropriately
investigated. The Senior Manager will take the lead on preparing
for, hosting and responding to all compliance audits and will
manage the internal audit program to ensure compliance is
maintained in all areas of the operation.Detailed Responsibilities
/ Duties:Manage the operations of the Quality Compliance and
Quality Engineering teamsMonitor and maintain KPI performanceServe
as a subject matter expert in the interpretation and implementation
of all applicable regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., 21
CFR Parts 117, 114, 111, MUI Halal, Kosher, Non-GMO, Gluten-free,
etc.)Assess and continually improve the effectiveness of
compliance-related trainingTrain personnel on compliance-related
topics and procedures as neededDevelop compliance-related topics
and procedures as neededEnsure quality documents and changes to
quality documents are processed in a timely mannerWrite and revise
compliance-related procedures and forms (e.g., SOPs, forms, food
safety plans)Ensure site has appropriately trained PCQIs
(Preventative Controls Qualified Individual) for FSMAEnsure food
safety plans are created and maintained for all relevant product
typesEnsure review, monitoring and verification activities are
performed for all food safety plansEvaluate changes to facilities,
materials, products and equipment for impact on complianceMaintain
all applicable facility registrationsOversee NSF certification
programLead and oversee audit prep and audit response
activitiesManage the internal audit, allergen control and
gluten-free programsWork with regional GRA to ensure
compliance-related documents (e.g., certificates of manufacture,
import documents, etc.) are provided in a timely mannerApprove
deviations and other quality-related documents requiring management
reviewEnsure all nonconformance reports (QIRs, NMRs, MRRs, PEs,
NCRs) are appropriately investigated and closedEnsure the CAPA
program is appropriately managedEnsure SOPs for all Quality
Compliance and Quality Engineering programs are kept up to date and
accuratePrepare and provide updates to senior QA leadershipCoach,
train and develop staffCommunicate and/or interact with compliance
experts and consultants as requiredPerform other related duties as
assigned by managementSupervisory Responsibilities:Quality
Compliance Supervisor and staff (3-5)Quality Engineering Supervisor
and staff (3-5)Required Qualifications:Skills:Extensive knowledge
of GMPs, FDA regulations and documentation proceduresDemonstrated
ability to lead and manage QA functions and programsAbility to
communicate cross functionally with peers, associates and
upper-level managementExcellent written and verbal communication
skillsAbility to work independently as well as in a team
environmentCoaching and mentoring skills
team developmentExperience:8 years of progressive experience in
Quality Assurance5 years Supervisory experience in Quality
AssuranceEducation:Bachelor s degree in a scientific field or
equivalent combination of education, training and
experiencePreferred Qualifications:BS or MS degree in a scientific
field5 years
experience in a Quality role in a Dietary Supplement or Acidified
Food companyASQ certified in the areas of Inspection, Auditing,
