Join our team as we focus on welcoming patients and make going to the dentist a more routine part of care.St. Jude Neighborhood Health Centers (affiliated with Providence St. Joseph Health) is seeking a full-time bilingual (Spanish/English) Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant to provide exemplar patient care and basic supportive dental procedures within the scope of a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant. Responsible for cleaning, sterilization and packaging of instruments. Co-ordinates patient appointments, assists with patient registration & billing, maintains stats on patient visits & ethically handles cash transactions in the clinic. Requirements Essential Duties: Welcomes patients to our clinicsAssists patients with questions, including scheduling, helping them complete formsCoordinates patient registration, payment, and billingSets up, cleans, sterilizes, and maintains dental instruments and equipmentAssists the dental provider through 4-handed dentistryProvides chairside assistancePerforms digital x-raysRecords patient visits, transactions, and other duties, utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Record) and other software A successful Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant: Conducts all interactions with patients and fellow caregivers (staff) and vendors with dignity, compassion, justice, and excellenceValues the work we do, with a high regard for ethical practices, care, and patienceExemplifies warmth, patience, and calm, with an ability to problem-solve and keep patients at the forefront of careHas a collaborative approach, adapts to the changing nature of the work, and takes initiative in partnership with the teamValues professional growthIs able to use computer-based systems and software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and is proficient in utilizing and learning other software systems Education : Completion of a Dental Assisting Program (which includes 8 hours in infection control, course in the Dental Practice Act, Radiation Safety) Desired Experience: 6 months' experience as a Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant in a community-based clinic. License / Certification: Radiology CertificateCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS), accredited by AHA (American Heart Association)Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), optional Salary Description 18.00 - $26.00 / hour
