Job Description:
Job Description Job Description The Occupational Therapist will
be responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing
occupational therapy programs to help patients develop or regain
daily living skills. They will work closely with patients to
improve their physical, mental, and emotional well-being, ensuring
their ability to engage in meaningful activities. Essential Job
Functions: Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive
assessments to determine patients' functional abilities,
limitations, and goals. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized
treatment plans based on assessment findings and collaborate with
interdisciplinary teams for holistic care. Therapeutic
Interventions: Administer occupational therapy treatments including
therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, activities of daily living
(ADL) training, and adaptive equipment provision based on
individual needs of each patient. Patient Education: Educate
patients and their families on therapeutic techniques, home
exercises, and adaptive strategies to maximize independence.
Progress Monitoring: Regularly reassess patients' progress and
modify treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of
patient evaluations, progress reports, and treatment plans
according to regulatory standards. Collaboration: Communicate
effectively with other healthcare professionals, including
physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation team members, to ensure
coordinated patient care. Compliance: Adhere to ethical, legal, and
professional standards, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring
compliance with relevant regulations. Expected to meet the needs of
having patient execute Plan of Care including but not limited to
following up with patients if non compliance occurs. Be a team
player to utilize non clinical staff to support needs of the
caseload (IE play nice with aides and PSRs that help support the
staff) Proper delegation and use of COTA when applicable. Be an
active participant in helping to drive a collaborative culture
based on our service vision Ability to adapt to change in patient
schedules and daily patterns. Stay updated on advancements in
physical therapy techniques, technologies, and best practices,
integrating them into clinical practice as appropriate.
Qualifications: Education: Master's degree or higher in
Occupational Therapy from an accredited program. Licensure: Valid
state licensure as an Occupational Therapist. Experience: Previous
experience in a clinical or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, critical thinking,
and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements: Mobility: Ability to move around freely to
assist patients and therapists. Lifting: Capable of lifting and
carrying equipment or assisting patients as needed (up to 50
pounds). Standing: Extended periods of standing and walking during
therapy sessions. Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in handling therapy
tools and equipment. Visual and Auditory Skills: Ability to observe
patients and communicate effectively. Flexibility: Adaptability to
changing tasks and schedules in a dynamic healthcare environment.
