Job Description:

This role is for a Physician Assistant responsible for providing comprehensive preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic care in a community clinic setting. The PA works under established clinical protocols and state regulations to evaluate patients, diagnose conditions, order tests, and support treatment plans in collaboration with physicians. The position also emphasizes patient education, health counseling, and minor in-office procedures to support overall patient care and wellness.

Dates / Schedule:

• Full-time clinical role in a community clinic setting
• Schedule based on clinic operational needs (typically weekday coverage)
• May include standard clinic hours with patient care responsibilities throughout the day

Job Details / Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient evaluations including medical history review and physical examinations
• Diagnose illnesses and injuries and develop treatment recommendations
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and imaging
• Prescribe or recommend medications and therapies with physician approval
• Document patient encounters, progress notes, and medical records accurately
• Perform therapeutic and minor procedures such as immunizations, suturing, wound care, and injections
• Provide patient education on treatment plans, preventive care, family planning, and health maintenance
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as needed in collaboration with physicians
• Ensure adherence to safety, infection control, and emergency protocols
• Maintain compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and state regulations

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree and completion of an accredited AMA-approved Physician Assistant program
• Active California Physician Assistant license
• Current BLS certification
• Current DEA registration
• Valid NPI number
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a community clinic setting preferred
• Experience in community health centers or specialty care preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient and team collaboration
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in clinical responsibilities
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to interpret complex medical information
• Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
