Job Description:

Benefits Administrator/HR/Risk Mgmt. Generalist

* Duties/Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Department Director will coordinate all benefits including health, dental, vision, Basic Life, AD&D, COBRA, Retirement Fund, all LOAs, OSHA, SDI, UI, ADA, Workers Compensation processing/tracking/compliance. Will also perform employee profile maintenance/auditing via the HRIS system. Will conduct all New Employee Trainings including NEO. Will perform other H.R./Risk Mgmt. related functions including but not limited to recruitment, new hire/termination processes, employee relations, labor laws research/implementation, policy/procedure development/research. Will also assist Director with HR/Risk Management special projects/tasks as needed. May work occasional Saturdays (once a month) for YMCA Hiring Fairs.


* Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age; Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.; A.A. or B.A. degree preferred; Must have at least two years work experience with Benefits Administration, H.R./General Labor/Risk Management Laws and related functions; Prior work experience with non-profit organizations preferred; Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; Must possess excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task & problem solve with little direction and great attention to detail; Ability to problem solve and take initiative to seek out solutions to challenges/issues; Must be able to maintain professionalism and use discretion to handle confidential information at all times; Ability to work well with others and maintain courteous, friendly, cooperative and professional demeanor when dealing with all levels of staff or community members; Ability to accept constructive criticism; Ability to complete assigned tasks on time; Ability to work within a stressful environment; Ability to maintain consistent attendance and show up on time for work; Current knowledge and understanding of labor laws/regulations, implement new applicable laws regarding human resources as related to onboarding of new hires; Proficiency in related computer applications-HRIS to include applicant tracking, onboarding, Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet research. Other software application knowledge a plus; Must submit to and comply with all requirements for employment including, but not limited to, a criminal background check, drug/alcohol testing, health screening, tb test; designated as a YMCA Business Driver, which means that the employee MUST possess a valid/current CA Drivers License or other valid State Drivers License. Also, MUST provide to the Y proof of minimum CA vehicle insurance coverage upon request & MUST maintain an approved/acceptable driving record. An annual MVR (Motor Vehicle Report) will be conducted by the YMCA. Employees who are YMCA Business Drivers who do not maintain an acceptable driving record may be prohibited from being a Business Driver which could affect employment status

* Wage: $22.00-$24.00 per hour
