  • Responsible for providing support in functional areas of the Human Resources department including (back-up support) conducting on site new hire orientation (for Anaheim and Gardena) in addition to hosting West Coast Virtual new hire orientation.
  • Support is also provided for other sites as needed in Maritime), Electronic filing, and communicating employee status changes to payroll.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact within the HR Department for employees and internal customers.
  • Under general supervision, this position generally performs routine tasks of administrative support of the Human Resources Department.
  • Assignments are of moderate complexity requiring the exercise of some discretion and use of limited judgment and initiative.
    Essential Functions:
    • Coordinate and conduct new hire orientation (back-up support) including review of company policies, timekeeping requirements, and completion of required forms.
    • Updates employment records (compensation, department and supervisor changes and SAP data.
    • Coordinates temporary employee onboarding to include citizenship verification processing, restricted party screening, and Cost Point bill rate data points.
    • Coordinates off-boarding to include terminations, exit interviews, final wages and coordinating system deactivations (working closely with legal counsel) when required.
    • Maintains and updates personnel files containing all employment-related information such as the employee personnel and termination files.
    • Provides administrative support to the Recruiting department for all four sites.
    • Assist with the standardization of policies and procedures.
    • Supports the talent review process.
    • Updates HR communication board
    • General filing records and training logs.
    • Other duties may be assigned.
      • Two to four years of clerical/administrative support experience in a Human Resources environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
      • Must have general office skills including utilization of office equipment.
      • PC skills are required including above average skills with the following applications: HRIS system experience, Windows, MSWord, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Visio and PowerPoint.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Must be organized, detailed oriented and able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
      • Understanding of current state and federal employment law.
      • Two to four years of clerical/administrative support experience in a Human Resources environment.
      • Ability to maintain high discretion of sensitive information.
        Preferred Additional Skills:
        • Bachelor's Degree in HR Management or a related degree preferred.
