To learn more about Berry, visit berryglobal.comResponsibilitiesPOSITION OVERVIEW:Under the direction of the Shift Supervision and manufacturing Group Leader this position assuringconsistent quality of production which meet or exceed customer requirements by following good manufacturing practices andpacking requirements of finished product. This includes packing, labeling, stacking boxes and supplying product line as needed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude but are not limited to the following. Reasonable accommodations considered to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Accountable for safety of self and co-workers through active engagement in safe behaviors and provides consistent communication of safe work expectations to all.Adhere to all safety work instructions, policies and procedures to include Critical Safety Behaviors. Responsible for knowing how to perform within standard procedures.Evaluate tasks to ensure the best and safest method to perform your job and keep others safe.Actively participates in safety activities for the assigned area of responsibility by recommending corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks in a timely and thorough manner.Packs bottles in boxes as instructed by Traveler. Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products in order to ensure that customer specifications are met.Inspect product for quality issues such as deformed bottles, orange peel, short shots and misprinted bottles to name a few examples. Ability to identify quality defects and color variances.Decide product quality and conformance to requirements. Sense and measure bottle defects such as texture, bottle temperature, and color variances.Remove completed or defective products or materials, and dispose as instructed or required.Seal properly, label and stack cartons of finished product on pallets and date, stamp or initial case labels.Ensure all boxes are labeled and it is legible.Move and/or relocate full pallets as required using a pallet jack or forklift.Monitor product line change to ensure a line clearance.Assembles boxes as required.Communicates and cooperates with other employees in a positive and constructive manner to achieve the goals of the department.Promotes, practices and maintains efficiency, housekeeping and Good Manufacturing Practices. Responsible for daily cleaning of areaMust be able to work other shifts and overtime as needed and may be on short notice as required.Must maintain throughout the day, a neat and orderly packaging, warehouse and ink mixing area if working in deco department.Ability to coordinate workload, organize and prioritize.Keep up with production output requirements in a fast pace environment.Ability to listen to and understand information and instructions, preferably in English. Understand written instructions and work related documents such as Bill of Materials.Must be able to wear protective clothing as hair net, uniform, reinforced toe shoes, gloves, long-sleeved shirt, and earplugs.Will lift and carry anywhere up to 40 pounds.Actively participates in teams, ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement opportunities.Regular attendance is an essential function. Berry will need to arrange to cover the duties in case of scheduled and unscheduled absences.
