A Day in the Life of a Quality Assurance Technician Balloon Drawings Creates and revises balloon drawings in program by pulling applicable drawing and ballooning various part features; uploads the drawing to document control program; Certificate Review Reviews certifications to verify conformance to specifications and internal requirements and determines acceptance or rejection; stamps paperwork if approved and documents certificate in system; contacts outside suppliers for corrections and ensures corrected certificates are received.
Contract Review Completes portions of contract review in system; conducts contract review by evaluating customer purchase orders, systems requirements, drawings, as well as all purchase order/drawing supplements.
Corrective Action (CA) Carries out corrective action flowed down internally or by customers and industry oversight committees; originates CA and sees that all necessary actions are carried out through to closure; initiates and actions containment of product in stock, WIP, or with customer, if necessary; investigates issue, facilitates root cause and corrective action process, develops and implements action plan or assists others in process.
Customer Returns Creates customer non-conformance (NC) report and carries out return process; submits appeals to customers if return is determined invalid by internal parties; initiates CA process if return is valid.
Specification Review Reviews customer and industry specifications to determine requirement changes in new specs; prepares information and presents to relevant departments.
First Article Inspection Report (FAIR) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Submittals Creates FAIR and PPAP packages by accurately inputting data into required forms, gathering required documentation, and submitting to customer; tracks workflow of FAIRs and PPAPs.
Master Inspection Reports Creates and revises master inspection reports utilizing balloon drawings in system; uploads report into system.
Planning, Changes & Fixed Process Control Ensures planning details for part specific changes are applied to all active jobs; prints travelers and releases to shop floor; creates, revises, and submits fixed process documents, coordinates with manufacturing engineers to ensure customer requirements are met and tracks changes.
Serial Numbers Issues serial numbers, maintains control of assigned numbers, and creates serial number lists; sets up master serial number lists based on customer requirements. Other duties as assigned. What Youll Need 1 - 3 years minimum experience in a quality assurance type role involving documentation reviews and working with customer/industry specifications. Aerospace industry experience a plus. - An ideal team player mindset: people smarts, humility and drive. - Customer service skills, ability to build positive working relationships, ability to handle difficult discussions or situations calmly and professionally without losing composure. - Attention to detail, attention to accuracy in work tasks, organizational skills. - Understands having a sense of urgency, ability to manage time effectively and multi-task, meets deadlines. - Ability to take initiative, seeks out answers and solutions, sees tasks through to completion. - Critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills, ability to identify cause of issues and develop feasible solutions. - Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), computer and typing skills. The Extra Benefits This position operates Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additional hours and Saturdays may be required.
