Summary

Treater operator is responsible to inspect and monitor equipment in the Treater Lab, Wet Room, Mix and Chemical storage areas, all Treater areas and Oxidizer area. Also responsible for properly transporting chemical containers, & to efficiently install, set up, & clean equipment parts with proper solvent.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Monitor clocking meters to insure testing is done at proper times
  • Get glass from storage area, put on machine
  • Splice in glass for defects while running
  • Report any and all safety violations to lead
  • Perform continuous cleaning, daily
  • Chemical Handling: labeling and disposal

    Education And/Or Experience

    This position requires a minimum of a High school diploma or GED.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

    None

    Training Required
    • Hazard Communication Training
    • Forklift-Initial and every three years thereafter
    • Chemical Handling/Basic RCRA-Initial and annual update
    • Respirator-Annual re-fit test
    • Lock-out/Tag-out---Initial and annual update
    • RCRA Training (Initial and annually every year after)
    • OSHA Hazwoper-Initial and annual update

      Mathematical Skills
      • *Basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division

        Language Skills

        The ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels. Possess effective speaking writing and comprehension skills.

        REASONING ABILITY

        High reasoning capability required. Must be able to assess any situation quickly and make sound decisions based on limited information. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to effectively deal with problems in different situations.

        WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

        The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The work environment is fast paced. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have the ability to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, feel or grasp objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; ascend and descend stairs and ladders; balance; kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move light to medium weights of up to 50 pounds as measured with NIOSH lifting equation as a recommended weight limit. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

          • Must successfully pass post employment offer drug testing
          • Must pass a pulmonary function test for respirator use
          • Subject to drug/alcohol testing when there is reasonable suspicion
          • Must report to work on-time daily as scheduled
