Electrical Engineer Location: Anaheim, CA (92805) Job ID: #64360 Duration: - 6 mos Pay Rate: - Depending on Experience - $ ph (W2) Job Description: Design maintenance includes engineering support for design, test, system integration and sustainment of electrical components, equipment and systems supporting production and field related technical issues under limited supervision. The Electrical Engineer shall coordinate prioritization of major cross-functional issues to support ongoing program needs including proposal efforts. --- Analyze and perform trend analysis on failure data collected from production testing and equipment returned to DEPOT from the field. 1. Develop and present data regarding product failure trends to business stakeholders, utilizing data visualization tools such as Microsoft Excel and/or Tableau in order to communicate criticality and technical details and to facilitate root cause corrective actions and resolutions. --- Conduct Failure Review Board (FRB) meetings to review failure data. Failure data should be recorded and collected on a daily basis into the FRB database and presented during FRB meetings. The Sustaining Engineer shall capture the meeting minutes and forward to project team leaders and stakeholders. --- Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting to drive the root cause analysis and corrective actions in the investigations of manufacturing related failures/deficiencies. --- Support specific failure related investigations - support corrective action, capture supporting technical documentation and perform verification of corrective action: integration and test, qualification, etc. --- Support schematic design and circuit level simulation supporting failure analysis and obsolescence related activities, as necessary. --- Examine datasheets for obsolescence or design deficiencies and provide design changes as required. --- Analyze customer specifications and requirements to define and document reliability and maintainability requirements and perform required analysis. --- Perform routine Sustaining Engineering support assignments like troubleshooting failures of products in current production, manufacturing, and testing. --- Establish appropriate links with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering teams to monitor and provide technical assessment in regard to the production processes (e.g., fabrication, assembly, test, procedures, etc.) to effectively drive resolutions to minimize production flow disruptions and maximize production efficiency and throughput. --- Support engineering changes for Sustaining Engineering project that require form/fit/function analysis and prepare necessary documentation (e.g., engineering change proposals and internal department process documents). --- Interface with the engineering staff, vendor and customer personnel on program issues of technical concern, and support proposal activities. --- Perform other duties as assigned by Management. Additional Skills: --- Familiarity with ORCAD, PSPICE and PCB Layout is a plus. --- Design familiarity with power conversion topologies and electrical components IGBTs, MOSFETs and SCRs used in power switching applications. Education/Experience/Licenses etc.:Education and/or Experience: --- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from four-year college or university and 3-5 years related experience and/or training in aerospace, military, defense and space programs. Qualifications: --- Must be familiar with Microsoft office (Word, Excel and Power Point). --- In depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel skills to develop formulas and pivot tables is required. --- Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skills. --- Proven ability to lead technical projects. --- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
