Job Description:
CONSUMER SERVICES TRANSITION LIASON The Organization North Los
Angeles County Regional Center NLACRC is a private, non-profit
agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department
of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with
intellectual and developmental disabilities. NLACRC is one of the
largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the
San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley
since 1974. We serve individuals across the lifespan from infants
and toddlers, school age children, transition-age youth, to adults
and aging adults. SUPERVISION : Receives general supervision from
Early Start Supervisor or School Age Supervisor. THE POSITION AND
JOB SUMMARY Develop collaborative partnerships with local school
districts and other agencies that promote inclusive options for
children transitioning to preschool or kindergarten. Serving as the
regional centers primary point of contact for interagency
collaboration regarding school transitions of consumers up to age 5
Facilitating coordinated efforts within the regional center to
develop best practices to meet Part C to B transition requirements
Establishing recommended practices for family engagement during
transitions to increase efforts to improve family connections with
Local Educational Agencies Gathering information about families
concerns and/or the barriers faced during transition and
recommending changes in policies, procedures and practices to
address those concerns and barriers Educating families on the
school transition process Assisting the regional center with the
development of publications and materials that regional center
staff can use to improve the transition process Monitoring
implementation and supporting the continuous improvement of the
transition policies and procedures outlined in local memorandums of
understanding (MOU) between the regional center and local
educational agencies Participating in regular Part C to B
coordination calls with the Department of Developmental Services
Employment Standards Any combination equivalent to or likely to
provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical
way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be a Bachelors degree
in a related subject and three years of related experience. A
Masters degree in a related subject may be substituted for two
experience. Skills and Abilities Knowledge of intellectual,
developmental or related disabilities including current values and
best practices. Able to understand and apply regulatory and
statutory information. Strong communication and organizational
skills with the demonstrated ability to work independently and
cooperatively. Basic proficiency of MS Word and MS Outlook.
Assessment, customer service and organizational management skills
with proficiency communicating complex information both written and
verbal. Must work successfully with people from a variety of
cultures. Essential Requirements Frequent telephone, virtual, and
out-of-office meetings required. A valid California Drivers License
and reliable and transportation, or acceptable substitute, and
minimum liability insurance required for this position. NLACRC

Regular Salary: $18.88 - $22.40 per hour, plus $69.24 per bi-weekly
pay period for bilingual services, if applicable. Please note that
this position is subject to a temporary "add on" enhancement of
