Summary
This non-exempt position reports to the Director of Benefits. The
coordinator will provide broad benefits support across multiple
business units. The coordinator applies knowledge of benefit
regulations, concepts, practices and procedures as well as
knowledge of company policies in the administration of the company
sponsored benefit programs. This position is responsible for
supporting the administration of team member benefit programs,
including but not limited to the group health plans,
life/disability insurance, 401(k) plan, workers' compensation and
ADA/leaves of absence. The benefits coordinator partners with the
benefits program vendors. This role is be based in our headquarters
in Anaheim, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Manages the Benefits in box, reviews employee requests and
follows up accordingly in a timely manner by providing timely
excellent customer service, answering incoming questions about
billing, adding and deleting family members, billing inquiries, and
claims etc.
* Assists with COBRA processing and requesting health benefits ID
cards for members.
* 401(k) plan audits and administration.
* Manages all benefit vendor billing including submission for
payment and regular audits.
* Enters and updates new insurance plans and client information in
the HRIS system.
* Maintains detailed and accurate records.
* Coordinates and supports the efficient administration of the
company leave programs, including: FMLA, PDL, CFRA, PFL, ADA,
Workers' Compensation, Work/Travel Accommodations and Ergonomic
evaluations.
* Assists Director with group renewals.
* Collaborates with others to initiate and drive new programs and
processes to enhance the employee experience at Willdan.
* Effectively inspire coworkers, business partners and management
to find ways to develop Willdan's brand as an employer of
choice.
* Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by
supervisor as business needs dictate.
Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in human resources, insurance/finance, or
related area preferred.
* 3 or more years of progressively responsible human resources or
benefits experience.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, strong Excel skills
required
* Track record of prioritizing multiple projects and tasks to
ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a wide range of
stakeholders while delivering excellent customer service in a
rapidly changing environment.
* Experience with ESPP plans a plus.
* Experience with self-funding a plus.
* Experience with City of San Francisco requirements and
reporting.
* Effective listening, verbal communication, and written
communication skills with proven ability to appropriately adjust
messaging to different audiences.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, changing
entrepreneurial work environment.
* Competent in navigating HRIS systems, ADP Workforce Now system
experience preferred.
* Broad knowledge of multi-state benefit laws and regulations.
* HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) a plus.
