Job Description:

We are seeking a Neonatal ICU Registered Nurse to join our team for a 8 - 13 week Rapid Response Travel Contract!You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of with acute conditions such as heart conditions, respiratory distress syndrome, or shock. You will care for premature and ill newborn infants patients and perform advanced, invasive diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. To be successful as a NICU nurse, you should have a caring and empathetic nature, work well under pressure in a stressful environment, and be able to coordinate treatments and work with a team of neonatal healthcare professionals.*Requirements** A current registered nursing license \*Emergency License Accepted - Same Day\** A minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in NICU nursing, in an acute care facility* Current BLS, NRP certification required*Skills and Abilities** Must have a working knowledge of the complex NICU equipment used to treat at-risk newborns* Familiarity with medical software and equipment* Ability to build rapport with patients' families* Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment* The ability to listen and understand information and ideas quickly* The ability to offer emotional support to parents, guardians, and family members* The ability to work in a team* The ability to offer comfort to ill newborns*Responsibilities** Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records* Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects* Record patients' medical information and vital signs* Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions* Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans* Providing round-the-clock care to premature and severely ill newborn infants* Caring for the basic needs of infants; for example, feeding and changing diapers* Performing medical procedures; for example, inserting intravenous lines, performing tests, and administering medications* Assisting the NICU physicians in medical procedures and treatments* Using and adjusting specialized medical equipment* Formulating nursing plans and evaluating the effectiveness of treatments* Comforting ill newborns and anxious parents and family members* Offering support to parents and family members and educating them on the at-home care of their newborn1725-Indeed-NICU-CAJob Types: Full-time, ContractPay: $71.39 - $125.26 per hourBenefits:* Health insurance* Referral program* Relocation assistance* Travel reimbursementMedical specialties:* Critical & Intensive Care* Labor & Delivery* Ob/Gyn* PediatricsPhysical setting:* Acute care* Hospital* Inpatient* Newborn nursery* NICUStandard shift:* Day shift* Evening shift* Night shiftWeekly schedule:* 3x12* 4x12Experience:* Nursing: 1 year (Required)License/Certification:* RN (Required)Work Location: On the road
