Job Description POSITION PURPOSE: The Sample Shop Technician I
position will be responsible for the reviewing work orders for
material availability, cutting & processing components, and
building full assemblies. He/She will work closely with other
departments, including Engineering, Marketing, and Operations to
execute samples & fixtures for various purposes. In addition, this
position may be responsible for conducting formalized tests,
writing test reports, and all formal communication of test results.
This position reports directly to the Engineering Lead. IDEAL
CANDIDATE PROFILE: To perform this job successfully, an individual
must be able to excel at the essential functions assigned. The
requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge,
skill and ability required. Experience Previous experience in a
shop/factory environment Previous experience using shop
equipment/tools Previous experience in a test lab environment and
using lab equipment a plus 2 years relevant work experience Skills
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specification
Ability to operate shop equipment, power tools, and hand tools
(i.e. saws, routers, CNC, etc.) Ability to use measuring tape and
calipers Basic knowledge of shop/lab equipment and tools Excellent
written and verbal communication skills. Strong problem solving
skills Computer literacy a plus Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook a plus Education High
School Diploma or GED required ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Build cabinets
using various tools per engineering drawings Build production
fixtures using various tools per engineering drawings Operate
machinery, including table saw, band saw, table router, drill
press, panel saw, and CNC Support engineering development, product
line reviews, new product launches, and production Provide feedback
& support on engineering designs Meet aggressive project schedules
and resolve project issues. Performs other duties as assigned which
includes but not limited to lifting/carrying product samples for
testing (up to 70lbs), package or assist with building samples,
fixtures etc Support test lab technician with various production
and engineering testing, as needed. Consistently deliver the best

performance standards set by the Engineering team in order to
provide consistent deliverables. No supervisory responsibilities
SCOPE & EXPECTATIONS: Must be able to lift/carry up to 70lbs Must
be able to perform tasks involving standing, bending and lifting
(up to 70 lbs) While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear and
sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger,
handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms The employee is
required to work in a factory and/or lab work environment
lifting/carrying/moving products. The noise level in the factory is
usually moderate to high and hearing protection may be required on
the production floor. Safety glasses and appropriate attire are
required on the production floor. Reports to: Engineering Lead
Travel Requirements: Typically, travel is not required for this
position Recruitment process may consist of any combination of
