Structural Analyst will perform stress analysis of metallic and
composite primary aircraft structure made from cutting-edge
composite materials and technologies. Our Airframe Structural
Analysis team is responsible for performing analysis of airframe
structures and works closely with Structural Design, Loads,
Payloads/Interiors, Material & Process, Manufacturing Technology,
and System and Test & Evaluation groups. This position will report
to the Airframe Structural Analysis Manager.What you can do:
- Perform structural analysis of airframe structure (Boom, Cabin,
Empennage, Fuselage and Wing)
- Conduct stress analysis of primary structure made from
non-metallic and metallic materials
- Coordinate communications regularly with team members and
provide periodic updates on project progress, quality metrics,
project summaries, and other related documents
- Builds conceptual and detailed designs based on the
requirements
- Pro-actively seeks information and direction to successfully
complete the statement of work
- Research, develop, design, and document solutions to
engineering composite and metallic components and assemblies
- Produce engineering documentation, reports, and drawings as
needed
- Review completed analyses and drawings for accuracy, clarity,
and completeness
- Evaluate engineering development for conformity to standards,
procedures, and specifications
- Experience in structural analysis methods and documentation,
including classical hand-sheet analysis
- Development and manipulation of large finite element
models
- Perform trade studies to optimize structures and meet program
requirements
- Additional tasks as assignedWhat you can contribute:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, aeronautical or
equivalent field
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience with aircraft stress
analysis (an equivalent combination of education experience may be
considered)
- Experience with metallic and non-metallic static strength,
fatigue, and damage tolerance analysis
- Knowledge of classical structural analysis methodology and
aircraft design standards
- Familiarity with finite element analytical tools such as
Hypermesh, NASTRAN, Hyperview, ABAQUS, or similar (i.e., PATRAN,
FEMAP, etc.)
- Experience in CATIA V5/V6, SolidWorks or equivalent
- Experience with crack growth analysis and tools (i.e.,
Nasgro)
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and collaborative
skills
- Proactive delivery of communication and follow up
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must have the ability to independently prioritize and
accomplish work within time constraints
