We offer a very competitive salary and great benefits package which includes paid medical, dental and vision insurance, a company vehicle, gas card, paid vacation and 401k.We are a family owned business that values our employees and are committed to exceeding our clients expectations and upholding the highest standards of service, professionalism, and safety.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and repair of the company s fleet of vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipment. This is a key role that helps to make the company run smoothly.To be successful in this role, candidates must have strong mechanical experience and understand a variety of equipment, be computer savvy, have strong supervisory skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to triage and prioritize work orders.ResponsibilitiesPlan and coordinate tasks and activities of the company s fleet and equipment repair shop and ensure timely repair of gas-and diesel-powered vehicles, trucks, and heavy equipmentOperate and understand diagnostic equipment to determine necessary repairsAssign work orders to mechanics and coordinate with dispatch when maintenance is to be performedCoordinate the timely delivery and competitive pricing of parts with vendors and establish and maintain vendor relationshipsManage and oversee the shop mechanics including the daily workflow and schedulesCommunicate regularly with mechanics in the field and managementTrack equipment repairs and work ordersImplement and maintain database of maintenance and repair records for company vehicles and equipmentWork with equipment manufactures to ensure that warranty items are being addressed, and that PM schedules are being followed per their manufacturer recommendationsInspect work in progress to assure conformance with established maintenance and repair practicesOversee shop inventory, order parts, shop supplies, and equipmentHire and train shop employees which includes continuous training that benefits the mechanics developmentEnsure safety compliance and documentation with DOT and FMCSAPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent is required; vocational or technical training is preferred5 or more years experience in fleet and heavy equipment management is required, including management and supervisory experiencePossess strong mechanical experience and understand gas and diesel engines, hydraulics and construction equipmentMust be comfortable using and learning modern technology including Microsoft Office and associated programs; fleet management software experience preferredUnderstanding of California Department of Transportation and Federal regulationsStrong critical thinking and problem solving skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to effectively manage with multiple priorities and deadlinesGoal oriented, highly motivated self-starter and enjoy working in a fast paced environmentCollaborate effectively with employees and co-workers and have ability to work well with othersHighly organized and detail oriented with strong time management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong work ethic with high personal standards for quality of workBilingual in Spanish is preferredPlease do not call the office or send hard copy resumes.
