Job Description:

The Jr. Planning Analyst is a supportive role in creating and executing sales and inventory financial plans at a style and SKU level. Specifically, the Jr. Planning Analyst will assist Manager of Allocation & Replenishment in driving sales, optimizing inventory, and generating profit. The role serves as the primary support for setting up and maintaining assortments through data management, responding to stores and vendors, and providing analytical support to help sales and profit plans. The role is also charged with working with cross-functional groups to gain insight on trends and issues that would have an impact on the business.
Essential Job Duties

• Use merchandising systems to analyze key merchandising metrics (e.g., class productivity, product trending, inventory status, margin rate) and provide recommendations for optimization.
• Create and generate reports, analyses and scenarios to drive inventory strategy decisions, understand trends and facilitate planning team daily deliverables.
• Monitor basic style selling at size level and analyze historical data and current trends to recap business.
• Provide daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and seasonal updates on retail stores business as it relates to last forecast.
• Partner with cross-functional groups across the business to analyze components of the business where problems/trends exist.
• Identify, quantify, and communicate assortment opportunities; help develop seasonal transition targets and strategies, when applicable.
• Contribute to the development of the retail stores Replenishment assortment.
• Create purchase orders ensuring proper receipt flow and tracking deliveries.
• Be the point of contact for store questions regarding merchandise matters.

    Education and Experience
    
    • Bachelor's degree
    • 1-2 years of experience in a retail planning or buying field
    • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
    • Experience analyzing large amounts of data
